The incidence of childhood overweight and obesity is increasing in Cyprus. Parents are losing hope as to how to instill a healthy way of life into their children. In my opinion, the experience of visiting a dietician with one’s parents can be quite intimidating for a child and many times leaves the child feeling singled out and without hope to change. It is my belief that children should be taught about healthy nutrition practices in a workshop with other children and parents so that they can feel that other children are in the same situation as them. I offer workshops for different age groups which allow children to learn about nutrition together with the interaction of their parents. They learn the difference between “good” and “bad” foods, how to recognize fats and sweets along with choosing healthier alternatives, the importance of activity, and various methods to help them stay healthy throughout their childhood and teenage years. The workshops are as follows:
Teach your child to recognize good and bad foods using a simple method with traffic lights.
Teach your child to choose foods with less fats and salts and to prefer foods from home instead of fast- food restaurants.
This workshop is geared towards teenage girls that deal with issues like poor body image, poor nutrition habits, and decreased activity levels. It promotes a healthy body image and gives nutrition tips specifically designed for teenage girls.
Nutrition subjects and lesson plans vary for each age group and take place on a weekly basis for 6 weeks. * You get 3 one-on-one nutrition counseling for parents and child free when you pay for a workshop!
Price: For 6 group sessions and 3 one-on-one sessions, only €150!
